Vehicles

  • All of our patrol vehicles are clearly marked with decals, light bars and sirens and are well maintained.
  • Our patrol units are equipped with computers for recording logs, incident reports and other pertinent data.
  • All vehicles are equipped with CB radios and with cellular phones as another means of communication. Cellular phones also allow the patrol officers to respond to complaints and emergencies directly from tenants of patrolled locations.
  • We have both street cruisers and 4x4 vehicles to accommodate any need.

School Resource Officers

Our School Resource Officers Are Trained:
  • To constantly seek to identify possible abnormalities which might result in a safety and security threat.
  • To avoid possible confrontation by PROACTIVELY working closely with the staff and students, thus fostering the necessary relationships that would be instrumental in possibly preventing future criminal acts.
  • To de-escalate potentially volatile situations before they reach the level of a safety and security risk.
  • Trained to respond to active shooter situations using techniques designed to minimize the potential for injury and loss of life in the safest manner possible.
  • The proactive/relationship approach allows the less visually obtrusive method to be employed while remaining fully capable of detecting and responding to acts of aggression.
  • In areas where daily overt displays of armament may have a deleterious affect on young minds.

A 2011 study in the journal Youth Society found that the visual presence of armed guards in schools made many students feel less secure at school.

*The extensive training program mentioned above is routinely reviewed and updated in an effort to remain proactive and responsive to the ever-changing requirements of the school environments.
